Compassion Ministry at Grace Fellowship is where we take our faith and put it into action. James 1:27 tells us: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” That is the mission of the Compassion Ministry: to go beyond the “four walls” of the church and be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community.
We currently have two major programs in which to get involved.
2.4 is an all-volunteer, compassion ministry of Grace Fellowship. Teams from Grace prepare and serve a hot breakfast every morning (365 days a year!) to those who are homeless and in need in downtown Minneapolis. They serve over 100 people every day.
Volunteers are asked to give 10% of their day (2.4 hours) to help serve and show God’s love for the homeless.

Simpson Housing Service’s mission is simple: To house, support and advocate for people experiencing homelessness. To learn more about Simpson, check out www.simpsonhousing.org.
Grace Fellowship regularly provides and serves meals to the residents of their overnight housing mission. We typically serve the second Friday of each month.
There are two service opportunities: provide food and serve the meal. Two weeks prior to each event we hold a sign up in the commons as well as communicate to our volunteers via the CCB website and email.
One of the most important aspects of this ministry is after we are done serving the food we have the opportunity to sit with the residents, share a meal, and more importantly, share an ear. It is at this time that we may, at the Spirit’s leading, have an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with the residents. It is for these opportunities that we pray.
